Findrack House

We were engaged to develop design proposals to replace Findrack House. The original property was believed to date circa 1670 and had been substantially altered and extended in its lifetime. These various alterations culminated in a large 9-bedroom property that lacked cohesion with numerous staircases and level changes creating a warren of corridors and disconnected rooms.
The age of the property, the multiple different construction techniques employed over the years and, the degree of water ingress throughout the property meant that attempting to renovate or alter the existing structure to suit modern-day living would lead to a costly and overall unsuccessful development.
In 2019, we secured planning approval for the demolition, and replacement, of the original house. Providing a large 9-bedroom family home split over three storeys. Entering through the vestibule, guests are welcomed into a spacious reception room with a sweeping staircase providing access to seven first and second floor bedrooms. A massive four-meter-high window flooding the space with natural light. To the left and right, though bespoke over-sized double doors, built into the wall panelling, is a private drawing room and open-plan kitchen family.
The rear wing features utility, store rooms and a small children's playroom, with access to two bedrooms on the first floor.
In 2021, we secured planning approval for a large triple garage and store rooms to the rear of the new house. Connected to each other by an oak framed flat lead roof carport. The garage is complete in the same style as the house.
The property is finished with a light pink painted render and reclaimed natural slate.
